Father Hurt—Kicked by a Horse

Father and Mother had stayed all night at a farm home near one of his appointments. He was ahyays out bright and early and was out helping the brother with his chores. It was cold winter weather and he had a scarf as was the custom those days, knotted arming his neck.

The man let his horses out to run for a drink, when a big powerful farm horse passed Father and kicked him, breaking his collar bone, and all thought likely the knotted scarf saved him even more serious injury. He suffered for a long time as it was.
